SIMEO Buoy: marine ecosystem monitoring station

An ecological monitoring buoy for marine vertebrates – the aim is to collect information about the quantity, their trajectory and their behavior.

The buoy is equipped with an anchoring system that can be adapted to different sites and consists of three modules:.

 Air module:  includes meteorological sensors, a radar, video cameras and a passive acoustic system

Central module:  includes control and security systems, energy supply, transmission and data storage

 Submarine module: includes instruments dedicated to the acquisition of physical and hydrological data and a depth sounder, hydrophones and video cameras
