nke Group Becomes Part of Satlink

Satlink, the world leader in ocean technology solutions, is delighted to announce the integration of nke Group—which includes nke Instrumentation among its subsidiaries—marking a new chapter in global Ocean Tech leadership.

Firmly rooted in Brittany, and more specifically in Hennebont, for over 40 years, nke brings invaluable expertise in the design and manufacture of navigation instruments (through nke Marine Electronics) and marine and freshwater monitoring and measurement systems (through nke Instrumentation, nke Asia and Aquaread). Thousands of public and private clients around the world already rely on nke’s technology.

A Partnership Driven by Technology

Founded in 1992 by Mr. Faustino Velasco and headquartered in Madrid, Satlink is a family-owned company whose origins in satellite communications have evolved into a global leadership in technologies supporting sustainable and efficient management of marine resources.

With its strong commitment to research, innovation and development, and its ambition to broaden its global reach, Satlink saw a natural alignment with nke Group.

This partnership unites two major players in the sector to create the largest European group dedicated to ocean science, data and innovation. Together, they form a powerhouse capable of serving nearly 10,000 organizations across 130 countries, including research institutes, governments, NGOs and industry partners.

Expertise & Innovation

This new alliance brings together complementary strengths in research and development, driving a new wave of innovation.

Satlink’s development of data collection and analysis solutions is set to accelerate, powered by nke’s renowned technological expertise in water-quality monitoring, notably through its major contributions to the Argo program and other international initiatives.

The shared goal: a deeper understanding of the oceans and more sustainable management of their resources.

He commented: “Our alliance with Satlink represents a unique opportunity to accelerate our growth, expand our international presence, and strengthen our R&D capabilities. We’re confident that this milestone will enable nke to reach new heights, and we’re truly excited to embark on this new chapter alongside Faustino [Velasco, Satlink’s President and CEO] and his entire team.”
