Profiling floats deployment! 🌊
The first 2️⃣ floats for the REFINE project were deployed last week in the Labrador sea by Edouard Leymarie from the LOV.
Those Jumbo BGC Argo floats measure the 6 standard BGC variables and the large particles and zooplankton thanks to the underwater vision profiler sensor embedded on the float.
The aim of the REFINE project is to deploy several BGC Argo floats to explore the Twilight Zone!
Meeting with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to France! 🇧🇩
Few weeks ago we were invited by Herve Balusson and alain reocreux from OLMIX to a meeting with the Ambassador of Bangladesh and the Commercial Counsellor.
Annual maintenance of our buoy network!
For more than 15 years, nke has installed a network of instrumented buoys in front of the EDF Le Blayais nuclear power plant.
➡️ These buoys aim to measure temperature in real time from sea surface to bottom, when the Blayais nuclear power plant rejects cooling water in the river.
The encrypted data are transmitted in real time to the nuclear plant via a UHF modem.
One more WiMo probe on the Loire river! 💧
The WiMo multiparameter probe installed last week by Michel is the 9th probe measuring water quality on the Loire.
The WiMo measures the main physico-chemical parameters and transmits the data collect by its 3G/4G transmission module! 📡
#AST23 – Vendor day
Last week, Jérôme SAGOT from NKE presented to the #ARGO community the very last performance results of our profiling floats: reliability, performance, long lasting autonomy…
Our BGC argo floats can embed lots of sensors, with 60% more energy, to meet the needs of ocean studies.
Thanks to the AST23 organizers and all the participants!
Oceanology International 2022
Thank you very much to all of you for coming to NKE booth! It was very good to finally be back at Oceanology International in London!
Eunice Storm – Saint Brieuc Bay 🌪️🌊
The nke buoys placed on the Ailes Marines wind farm in Saint Brieuc Bay provide a glimpse of the Eunice storm in the area last week! 🔎
On February 21 at 7:00am, the buoys recorded:
🌊 a wave height of 5.65 meters
🌪️ a wind speed of 68 km/h
Profiling floats tests 🧪
Last week, the NKE Team was at Ifremer in Brest to tests some profiling floats to finalize the production.
3 CTS4 profiling floats equipped with pH and DO sensors and 3 CTS4 Jumbo (they have more batteries) equipped with pH, DO, REM-A and SUNA sensors were tested.
Ready to be deployed at sea! 🌊
NKE MRE Project in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc
The first batch of oceanographic buoys provided by NKE have just been deployed!
15th Anniversary!!
It’s already been 15 years now since nke has installed a network of instrumented buoys in front of the EDF Le Blayais nuclear power plant.
These buoys aim to measure temperature in real time from sea surface to bottom, when the Blayais nuclear power plant rejects cooling water in the river.
Mooring tests on oceanographic buoys
Yannick was recently on the field to make some tests regarding our oceanographic buoys.
Those buoys aim to measure in real time the turbidity level at 150 meters below the water surface and 3 meters above the bottom.
nke equipped the Port of Barcelona
Drones were deployed in the Port of Barcelona to monitor the water quality as they will collect geolocated samples that will later be analyzed in laboratory.
WiMo multiparameter probes are being mounted on the drones to record in real time some parameters related to water quality. Those data are transmitted in real time via 4G.
